Ivan Foletti (1980, Prague. Lives and works in Lausanne) is Maître Assistant Ambizione at the University of Lausanne, where he directs a project of the FNS on the relationships between relics, images and ethnic groups in Lombardy in the Early Middle Ages. He is also an assistant professor at the Masaryk University of Brno. His scientific interests concentrate on the birth of Byzantine studies in Russia and the Occident, the relations between image, space and liturgical performance in Late Antiquity, and on the worship of relics and images in the Middle Ages. He is the editor of the magazine Convivium. Exchanges and Interactions in the Arts of Medieval Europe, Byzantium, and the Mediterranean. He is also the author and editor of twelve scientific monographs and various other books.
