Céline HÄNNI

Music

After academic studies (HEM Lausanne and Geneva), Celine Hänni (1974, Geneva) left the Conservatory for the “conversatory”, opening up a vast terrain of experimentation, creation and exchange as a powerful antidote against soft-headed thinking. She has triggered collaborations with musicians and researchers, exploring the voice, through interpretation of the 20th-century repertoire, the production of contemporary works of music and the practice of improvisation. A curious ‘transartist’, she likes to associate her sound explorations with theater and the graphic arts. In Rome, she will develop a project that is devoted, to use the words of Henri Chopin, to the “new oralities, new functions of words and voices”, a reflection on language in three parts: exploration of texts-scores that have marked the history of sound poetry; development of a composite work that involves a performer, a composer and a researcher; creation of an improvising chorus.
